2005-12-13 Update to take place at 2:00 PM Flank attack is here. How flank attack works is (see below), say if ds1 is a ship spam, then as2 to as4 will do flank attacks because there is no ships blocking them. if ds1 have `cant defend`, then as1 will do a retal attack on as2. summary = we try to discourage players from ship spamming. as1 ds1 as2 as3 as4 Note: as = attacking ships, ds = defending ships Ships adjusted -20% build cost to Marauder D class +Build rate to Neutral f class, t.Ryu-jin, t.Maru, t.Sentoki, A.Miner M class (except M.Lakko), Collective R class -1 Range to Runners, m.Hal -5% Weapon to Light Frigate -Upkeep & Cost for Terran p class -Upkeep for c.Taurus 2005-12-11 After monitoring the Marauder rebalancing update, it seemed that there is a flaw in our balancing formula. Although on paper the formula looks correct we did not take into the account `ship loss` (SP). The more offensive the ship is, the higher SP rate, the more indirect cost it occurs. For example, if the SP rate is lower (defensive ships), it cost less to maintain a fleet at a particular Pr because the number of ships remaining after being attack is much higher compared to offensive ships with higher SP ratio. Since most Marauder ships are offensive there is a lot of indirect cost to maintain their ship are a particular Pr due to high SP. From our finding, we have adjusted all offensive ships based on their SP value to either increase their Hull or Attack. I am personally monitoring the balance in the game 24/7 for the next 1-2 weeks to see if this rebalancing update does fix some of the balancing issues especially effecting Marauders. W+H/Pr rating = maintained the same. Layman terms : we increased the hull and reduced the damage caused by the ships, this will effectively makes the ship last longer or wont be killed of that easily after battles. This is to offset the high ship building cost for D class ships. 2005-12-06 Note: This update was meant to be on 4th but postponed cause Stephen isnt feeling well. Minor update is scheduled on 2005-12-06 11:00 AM server time. The main goal is to improve game play (bug fixes) and the long awaited marauder balancing. New / ImprovedNew / Improved o Game-Admins can now change your federation name (GC & UC). Previously players have to email to Stephen and wait for a couple of days. Since federation name is cached name change will not take effect until the next server refresh. o Federation now has faction. This allows a federation to support a particular faction, namely the Kalzul, Dark Maraders or Metos race. Change +1 digit to assigning planets, so instead of 999 you get 9,999 (paid has +2 digit) +30 Bonus to systems upgrade. This effects IE 4.x only. o After you click on build ship there is a 0.001 seconds window if you are attacked, you will get logged out o If you buy more than 2 billion worth of minerals at a single time you will encounter an error page, if you logout without using a turn, the purchase will be voided. o Loophole: If in theory someone buys 15 trillion food from the market within an hour, and keep buying any amount of food once every 5 second and keep doing so for 30 minutes, this person would cause the game server to refresh o An additional double checker has been placed in the market. This will solve: Sometimes the market have 0 or negative (very rare), also allows double posting (effects those using IE with IE cache enabled) that can cause you to have negative minerals or resources by selling more than what you have. o When you have 4999 loyalty and if you put 2 turns, the system will deduct 2 turns instead of 1 o Text typo fixed in market & reward pop page o Default price for selling ore (if over $1000) has a comma, and the system rejects comma o Clicking on the view empire `v` in popular contest sometimes shows up white screen o Disable vacation mode in Deathmatch server o In the project page when you have 0 turns you will not be able to put in credits to the project 2005-11-13 Minor update is scheduled on 2005-11-13 11:00 AM server time. Once explored and found players can then build this stuff, ex: Excavator (Small), for a whole list check out the Manual > Project List o Improved help & support system o Improved forum system o Auto-login, automatically logs you in (may pose as a security risk cause anyone who has access to your Pc can login as you) o Force vassalize, players can force vassalize another empire by paying 200-300% more honors o A way to track who kills the most Kalzul, D.Maru or Metos (so we can give rewards accordingly) o Federation projects/wonders o Federation missions o Online tip, in specific page a tip box will appear offering tips to players + More sabotage features + To sabotage related artifacts power - Marauder e class ships Note: + = Increase/upgrade (or adding new ships) - = Nerf 2005-11-05 Changed o Level up minister, allow players to +20 level instead of just +1 lvl for paid accounts o If lord inactive for more than 7 days, to declare freedom = free o Amount you can send via tribute has been increased by 320%, this should be good for those in RT o Raising pop auto-limit. This means raising pop will automatically be stopped once you have reached the maximum population. Previously you have to calculate the turns, using additional turns will be wasted. o Sabotage has been reduced to 5 seconds from 15 seconds, impact of sabotage increased to 10x, so 1 click = 10 clicks (saves time to sabotage). Bug fixed o Disband outpost ships will sometimes deduct more from the reinforcement statistics page than it is supposed to o Honors required to declare freedom not shown properly on page o Battle bug : if a stack is wiped out sometimes the stack under it doesnt attack o Battle bug : reinforcements anti-cheat isnt working sometimes, by right players arent suppose to get reinforcements from those using the same PC or IP address as the player o Battle bug : The system shows a 30 minute wait to attack the same empire again, its actually 15 minutes not 30 minutes (display error), so you can actually attack the same guy again after 15 minutes not 30. 2005-11-04 Rebalancing update a great success... the following were accomplished (according to plan) - Average credits for guardian has dropped to 2nd place with 68 points right after ming with 74 points (the way it should be, because miner = supposedly to be the richest in the game). + Marauder have the highest Pr per planet ratio, and is capable of maintaining their planets and Pr as opposed to previously - Prices of food & minerals have dropped in the market to a more reasonable level + More players are upgrading their systems The following balancing task has not met its objectives, so dont fear because we are currently monitoring this and will use the results to see how to rebalance the game further. - K class guardian ships + Strafez Runner class ships The following may be rebalanced in the future: + Viral income or + Viral ship + Collective ships + Bonus to flank attack in battle (flank = ex: if 1 stack attacks 2, 2nd stack attack is called flank, where its a free shot). this is to encourage players to use more stacks and to decrease the effectiveness of `Single Ship Spam` The following feature has a chance of being implemented in the future (not 100% sure yet): o Force vassalize, players can force vassalize another empire by paying 200-300% more honors + More sabotage features + To sabotage related artifacts power Note: + = Increase/upgrade (or adding new ships) - = Nerf 2005-10-30 Thanks to the feedback of players we will be performing a minor rebalancing update on 2005-10-30 at 11:00 am Changes Simplify income page (found at manage planet > income details in gray), calculations remain the same, layout (page design) for tax has been changed to follow commercial Raw Material production +50%; 1 planet of agriculture now produces 1.5 raw material instead of 1 +System bonus if you upgrade your system. This is to give more incentive to players who upgrade their system and for the cost of planets used for upgrading the system. Dark system defensive bonus increased. Tax Minister bonus reduced from 10% to 5% Strafez Runner W+H/Pr rating will be increased Guardian Kalzul class ships W+H/Pr rating will be reduced by 0.3% to 0.4%, cost of build and upkeep increased slightly Marauder All ships updated: all d class ships will cost a lot more (credits only mineral requirement remains the same) to build but will have ultra-lower upkeep, non-d class cost and upkeep = almost same with terran, marauders can choose to have temporary (non-d class) or long term ships (d class ships would be cheaper to keep them rather than to disband them). 2 new ships for marauder, d.fallen and e.corral (starbase). marauder commercial & agriculture income has been increased by a lot, industry income reduced. on the whole the income for marauders and terran after the update should be almost the same all marauders will get the i-tech library Race Bonus Commercial bonus increased for Marauder, Guardian, A.Miner, Collective Agriculture & Mining bonus increased for almost all races Notes: W+H/Pr = rating on how powerful the ship is (weapon + hull / pr)
