Data Center problem   06 September 2005

We encountered a 2 hour server outage from 6.00 PM to 8.00 PM (server time), reason: someone in the data center accidentally unplugged the network cable to our rack.

Insurance & compensation

Everyone is given special DP, +10 btc, +5 pcc to make up for it.

What happened ?

All our server was out , sadly it took 45 minutes for us to reach the data center (no one seems to be picking up the phone) and another 45 minutes for them to figure out whats wrong and it took them 1 hour & 15 minutes to plug in the cable (I am as upset as you are as I have no idea why it took them so long to plug in a cable).

I have been informed from the data center that, for some unknown reason our rack`s network cable has been unplugged (wtf ? yep, I am bogged down as well with the reason).

What is Stephen going to do about it ?

I am gonna write in a complain and hope this will not happen again

What can you do ?

Servers & bandwidth is Ultra-Expensive, not to mention the cost to maintain, and improve on the games. So please help donate to support us so we can afford to get better hosting. We`ve got about 100-200 donations a month on average out of 55,000 active players.

On top of that, almost all of our ad agency refused to pay us (happens very often, please feel free to report them / flame them / kick them / throw rotten eggs at them : banner-mania.com valuead.com clickgalore.com AdWorldNetwork.com paypal@bannerconnect.net support@bannerconnect.net sales@bannerconnect.net info@bannerconnect.net traffic@bannerconnect.net )

Please help donate to support us, click here for more info on donation offers

If sufficient donations has been collected, we will:
1. Get a new switch that supports 2 uplinks and subscribe to 2 uplinks (we are having 1 uplink now)
2. Get multiple Power, to get Power from 2 sources instead of 1 (currently taking from 1 source)

Lastly

I would like to thank all players for their support and again apologize on behave of the `unfortunate` problems encountered today.

- Stephen (still unhappy with the data center)
