Policy on promotional prizes ? 30 June 2005
Under requirements by Paypal we have to inform all players using Paypal that this is a `free game`, there is no `joining fees` and you will not be eligible to win any promotional prizes. All our signup pages now carries this disclaimer and warning to remind everyone that this is a free game, donation from your heart, we do not force you to donate as you can always play our games for free. For some reason given they believe we are running a front for an online lotto, where a huge cash prize is given out every day to players who donate. And I am unable to convience them that this is a space game and anyone can signup for free (no-joining fees). How lotto works is, you buy a number and hope for it to come out. Maybe our donation reference number gave them that idea that we are running a lotto site, and them being too busy to check out the site assumed that is the case. The added disclaimer This is a free game; you can play for free & there is no joining fees. This game is intended for play only within the 50 United States (and the District of Columbia) where U.S. law governs this promotion and not eligible to win any of the promotional prizes. I would like to personally apologize to all players for all inconvenience caused by our Paypal problems - Stephen Update: Our Paypal problem was resolved after they checked on our site to make sure we have put up a disclaimer that this is a free game and there is no joining fee. We are also not allowed to give random cash prizes to players (not that we have ever done so, only during deathmatches)
