Paypal Subscribe/Donation 29 June 2005
Paypal suspended our payment services because they claim we are running an illegal gambling site. Yes, we have been accused of running gamestotal.com as an illegal gambling (ex: online casino). The first thing which pops up to my head is, what the heck ?? I always thought that we are running an `Online Computer Games` website. See the below for the exact email received:

However, after a recent review of your account, it has been determined that you are currently in violation of PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy. The Policy prohibits the use of PayPal to send or receive payments for any form of gambling activities, including but not limited to payment for wagers, gambling debts or gambling winnings, whether conducted online, in person or through any other means of communication.

Luckily for us we have a backup paypal account (dont worry its legit and not against any of their policy) and i have switch it over to our backup account. So we can continue to receive donations via paypal, those who have tried but failed can try again.
I believe that I am responsible to inform all players regarding to clear up any miscommunications that may have caused by this issue. I would not want to imagine what our players may think if they tried to donate and an error message saying something like `Gamestotal.com paypal account suspended for being an online casino `. I would also like to stress that our goal is to create a clean computer games environment for players of all ages to play (yep even kids as small as 5-6 years old), that is why even our chat is moderated to ensure no R rated stuff is posted. If anyone sees any of our ads containing any R rated stuff (like porn or casino) please immediately email to me at info[a]spacefedcom with as much details as possible and i will get our ad agency to remove it.
Lastly if anyone personally know paypal, please help call them to clear things up for us, our gamestotal.com paypal address is stephen[a]gamestotal.com , also please feel free to give them a piece of your mind. it seems that most people have common sense but in paypal`s case its not the common variety.
Update:
Our Paypal problem was resolved after they require us to put up a disclaimer that this is a free game and there is no joining fee. We are also not allowed to give random cash prizes to players (not that we have ever done so, only during deathmatches)
