Important Upgrade Notes

We will be moving all our servers on the 23rd of March, at around 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. All servers will be down for 4 to 8 hours. We expect some will have problems connecting to the new data center. Important, please write down this, and use this instead of spacefed.com if you are unable to connect to spacefed.com.

Why are we moving our servers out of Malaysia ?

Many players often complain about slight lag (mostly from Eastern US and Europe) which occurs 3-4 times a month. Due to this, we moved to a new data center in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Many parties has informed me that this is Malaysia`s pride, the MSC (Multimedia Super Coridor), with 1000 MB of bandwidth, 24/7 monitoring, along with all the banks and major goverment servers are located at. Seems like a good idea, as it was a major upgrade from our previous 4 MB bandwidth we previously had.

Lag is still encountered in this new data center, worst now effects everyone. The last straw was, a massive lag encountered on 20th of March, forced us to postpone the PM DeatchMatch and the UC update scheduled for that day (plus its my birthday too, so sad). All inconvinience is deeply regretted by all admins in spacefed, and we hope to once and for all solve this problem by moving all our servers out of Malaysia (finally eh?).

I believe that our lag issues will be resolved there because guys like NTT, Cables & Wiresless, Sprint and tons of other US based carriers have their backbone there in Singapore.

Since we will be personally carting all our servers, and driving to Singapore there will be an expected 4 to 8 hours downtime (yep it takes that long to get there). The good news is, current test results shows that Singapore is faster especially for those in Eastern US and Europe. Everyone will be given special DP, so no worries :)

Few words from Stephen

I understand that lag is the major annoying part of playing online games, hence the migration. Hope to have all of your support and patience in this matter.
